Ecological products: what a label really guarantees
“Ecological”, “natural”, “organic”: how to tell a verified claim from a marketing argument.
Read the articleThree words often confused. Telling them apart helps you read a quote and know what has actually been done.
In a specialised cleaning quote, words matter. Cleaning, disinfecting and sanitising do not refer to the same operation.
Cleaning means removing visible dirt: dust, grease, deposits. It uses water, a detergent and mechanical action. Cleaning always comes first, because a disinfectant works poorly on a dirty surface.
Disinfecting means sharply reducing the number of micro-organisms on a surface: bacteria, viruses, fungi. It uses a disinfectant, respecting the contact time stated by the manufacturer. A disinfectant applied and wiped off straight away often does not have time to work.
Sanitising is a broader term. It covers all the operations that make a place healthy: waste removal, cleaning, disinfection, odour treatment, ventilation. That is what a severely cluttered or unsanitary home needs.
Our quotes specify, room by room, what is planned: clearance, cleaning, disinfection, odour treatment. You know what is done, where and with which products. The data sheets for the products used are available on request.
